When a colleague at work heard me complaining about my Realtor from one of the ‘big brand name’ real estate agencies, he referred me to Spencer Properties which is a so called ‘discount broker’. Well, I can tell you this, Jenn Jones and Spencer Properties were everything but limited service. My experience in the past with full price brokerage firms is that they aren’t much more than door openers, and cared little about the important decision you are trying to make when buying a home.

My experience with Jenn Jones @ Spencer Properties was the opposite of that. After looking at several townhomes, I asked Jenn to submit an offer on a place. I asked her to offer a certain amount and she came back a few hours later with evidence that I was offering too much. She had ‘price per square foot’, ‘comparable sales’, and several other items that suggested I was offering way too much. This was when I figured out this woman was looking out for me and I could trust her.

Here’s what I know about Spencer Properties:

1. Spencer Properties sure doesn’t act like a Discount Broker (by the way-Jennifer Spencer Broker/Owner came to my closing and helped review the documents)
2. Jenn Jones can be trusted and is the best Realtor and agent I’ve ever had, and this is my 5^th home purchase/sale.
3. Every time Jenn Jones made a suggestion to me, I saved money and time.
1. Example- when Jenn came from N Raleigh to Morrisville (30-45 minutes) to let me and a mini blind sales person in the home after the offer was accepted but we hadn’t closed, Jenn came in the home and listened to the conversation. Any other agent would have opened the door and got on the phone and waited until it was time to leave. Jenn listened and at the right time said something that ended up saving me hundreds of dollars.
2. Jenn did every little thing. Except for the bank loan she personally arranged every action from surveys to inspections. She even recommended a bank, a homeowner’s policy company, and someone to build a fence.

The last home I purchased and sold was $425,000 and the Realtors didn’t deserve a dollar in commission.

Did I mention that Spencer Properties did all this for a discounted fee on a $150,000 townhome? Jenn Jones made this otherwise stressful event very simple and stress free. I will always recommend Jenn Jones at Spencer Properties.

It wouldn’t surprise me if I saw her out back this weekend with a post hole digger and a bag of cement installing my fence.

I found my new home completely by accident. After living in a townhome that I loved for thirteen years, I was ready for something more. I looked on line one afternoon and saw something I was interested in looking at. Since this idea of buying a home was so new to me, I had no idea what to do. I sought the advice of a close friend who had just gone through purchasing a new home herself and she without hesitation said "Just call Jennifer, she'll take good care of you". Merging two households can be challenging, especially when you have two houses to sell and a diverse, unique family with a large list of non-negotiables for the new home. We did have a buyer's agent who had shown us several homes but they were just not right for us. Sometimes, it was like she did not even know us at all. Finally, we terminated our contract with her and began to look on our own. It was then that we happened to meet Jennifer Spencer. She made us comfortable and she was warm and friendly.
